| Violet Artichokes | | Driving home from work a couple of days ago I was listening to an interesting discussion on Radio 4's Woman's Hour about comfort food; what constitutes a food to be classed as this and what was the choice of the studio guests. I disagree that to be classed as comfort food, the ‘said item' should be eaten outside mealtimes and that it should be a solitary pleasure. Also, there was a definite weighting to ‘crisp' textures and enormous references to chunky Kit-Kat as opposed to its 4 fingered sister. | | Baked Ratatouille with Chorizo | | This favourite that tastes rather like pizza and yet has none of the stodge; a ratatouille flavoured with spicy chorizo sausage and sprinkled with a handful of grated cheese before oven baking. I served this with thick slices of gammon but, it is equally delicious cold too and the following day found me drawn to a mid-morning healthy snack… Read More >> |

| | Fresh Eggs | Perhaps a little unusual but, my treat to bring home from holiday are eggs. Not just any eggs, but eggs from Bouisse, my favourite village in the Languedoc and where I enjoy relaxing time. Nestled in and, part of the spectacular views of Haute Corbiere, it certainly feels like a different world. Read More >> | |
