When apples are plently make this cake and enjoy with morning coffee, afternoon tea or served warm with créme fraiche as the finale to an autumnal supper.
Preheat oven to 180 degrees C/ Gas Mark 4; Grease and line a 20cm square cake tin.
1. Sift the flour and cinnamon into a bowl then stir in the sugar and raisins.
2. Add the melted butter, eggs, milk and apples. Beat until smooth then pour into the prepared cake tin and bake for about 1 1/4 hrs or until the cake is firm and springs back when lightly touched.
